Pick Your Son, Pick Your Daughter too...
This article talks more about the ability to determine the gender of the fetus as early as 10 weeks into the pregnancy. I don't know, I would rather let nature/God decide what gender the baby is going to be and live with it.

A Mind-Computer Connection?
I know I read something similar to this article that discusses research being done on how the human mind affects the computer - if at all. I think there is something to it; haven't we experienced someone under a lot of stress that suddenly has their computer give them problems? I believe there has been research showing the human mind having an effect in quantum physics, so affecting the circuitry of a computer doesn't seem so far fetched.

Scotty, I Need More Power!
The power went out at my house somewhere around 4:30 pm. It came back on around 8 pm. While I left the house around 6, power outages like this puts things into perspective and makes me appreciate electricity more. With the triple digit temperatures, being able to turn on fans and the air conditioner has made life more enjoyable. Dealing with a power outage in this hot weather is difficult; I could survive it happening in the winter more easily.

You are in a maze of twisty passages, all alike
Someone has taken the classic game Zork and written it in PHP. It sure brings back a lot of memories.
