While this kind of sliding door may be interesting, I think it fails to take into considerating the need for personal space. From what I can see in the pictures, those bars look like they would be a bit too close for my comfort.
I'll try to get the next part of my Firefox extension post up tonight.
A collection of news items, reviews, tutorials, commentary, links of interest, my photography, and more.

Stupidity will never cease to amaze me
Complaints about Best Buy's Geek Squad cars looking too much like police cars.
I won't even go into the silliness of the whole Geek Squad thing, but people are getting ridiculous.
I don't recall ANY law enforcement agency driving Volkswagen Beetles. And hey, here's a newsflash. Cop cars have flashing lights and sirens!
Are there people out there that would confuse penguins for police cars?!?
Then they go on talking about the "uniforms" they wear and how they could be mistaken for an officer. HELLO. They wear white shirts with ties and dark pants. Officers usually wear a full beige or full dark blue uniform.

Firefox Extensions, Part 1
This is the first of a series of posts listing and giving some details of the Firefox extensions I use at work and/or home. Some you may have already heard of; others, I believe, are more obscure.
Extensions for web developers:
Web Developer: This is probably the standard extension you'll find on any web developer's computer. Disable just about any part of the web page, play with CSS, forms, images, display various information about the page, outline the various parts of the page, and more.
Aardvark: I don't see this extension mentioned as often as it probably should be. This is a nice interactive way to work with CSS. Once the extension is turned on, the various parts of the web page that you move your mouse cursor over will be outlined with a red box and show a caption that reports the HTML element type as well as the class and id if they exist. From there you can do various things with the element such as remove it from the page, make it wider, or make it narrower.
LinkChecker: Checking for broken links on your pages can be tedious. This extension will highlight the links on a page with a particular color to tell you if the link is good, broken, or forwarded.
ColorZilla: Use this extension to get the RBG value and hex code of a color on a web page.
View Formatted Source: Sometimes the code you see with Firefox's view source option is difficult to read. I generally use this extension for it's color coding of HTML code (which will also allow you to view CSS information for the elements in a page), but it is also capable of letting you select a "block" in the page and just view the source for that block.
MeasureIt: Measure the height and width of any element on a web page.

YouTube
I've just learned about YouTube, which supposedly is similar to Flickr but made especially for video clips. It looks like the size limit is 100 MB, but appears that it may limit the video format to .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG. Depending on the length of the video to be uploaded, it probably won't be possible to upload a decent size, high quality video. I had to compress a video in the .MP4 format to get the video to a large screen size and good quality and came out to about 80 MB, but accoring to what I read, I wouldn't be able to upload it. Still, it is a good potential solution in some circumstances.

Sharing big files?
I'm looking for a way to share large files (video I have taken and edited) with friends and family. I don't have web space that is large enough. Yahoo's briefcase requires me to zip the file into multiple zip files and is a pain to upload. I don't really want to try to teach a number of them how to use BitTorrent. Does anyone have any ideas out there that are free?
