Fitbit - pedometers meet modern technology

The Fitbit is a pedometer with motion sensing technology similar to what is found on the Nintendo Wii.

It goes beyond the typical pedometer in a few ways:

  • Wear it while you sleep to detect REM tremors and determine how long it takes to fall asleep, how often you wake up, etc.

  • Rechargeable.

  • Wireless - transfer information to the software and get more detailed information on their site.

It looks very interesting, but I do have a few questions that are not answered. It mentions OS X support (and Windows XP/Vista), but which version? Tiger and above? Leopard only? And is it a universal binary or Intel only?

Update (September 22, 2008): I emailed Fitbit and, according to them, "At launch, it will be Leopard / Intel. We are limited by driver support provided by our USB chip manufacturer."
